One aspect of this strategic ambition relates to Hellmann’s connections to start-ups and the world of venture capital. To strengthen this aspect, we are looking to hire an experienced Director Venture Networking to lead our venture networking activities.
As the driving force behind our venture networking initiatives, you will have the unique opportunity to establish robust structures, formats, and processes, connecting new business models from start-ups into the established freight forwarders’ world and to shape our investment activities into start-ups and ventures. Furthermore, this role will foster a culture of innovation into the whole organization together with our internal innovation hub and the counterparts from the business units.

The role is located in Osnabrück and reports to the Chief Legal Officer and Head of M&A. Working from home is more than welcome, however we also believe in a mix where physical presence is important as we are just a great bunch of colleagues who like to see and meet each other in person.
» Your responsibilities:
- Develop the venture networking strategy aligned with our organizational goals in our key products and functions
- Manage the investments into start-ups and other ventures
- Develop formats and processes including clear value-driven decision gates as well as relevant formats for all steps of the investment cycle
- Support the innovation operating model as well as the roles and responsibility model together with the head of innovation hub and the core organization
- Foster a culture of innovation
- Establish close collaboration and communication with the innovation hub and the core business
- Portfolio and stakeholder management
- Establish and curate the relevant logistics innovation ecosystem to continuously position Hellmann at the forefront of innovative developments within logistics
- Explore and establish relationships with further industry and/or other relevant platforms that are essential to drive innovations
» Your profile:
- Strong understanding of innovation processes and methodologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in managing investments into start-ups and other ventures
- Proven track record in driving innovation and/or transformation initiatives
- Ability to identify and leverage emerging technologies and trends
- Strategic networking and relationship-building skills
- Experience in managing innovation ecosystems, partnerships and third party providers (e.g. Startups)
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive organizational change
- Project management and organizational skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for driving innovation
- Financial expertise, including the skill to assess start-ups and other ventures and the ability to create solid business proposals
